Eligibility Criteria for Army TGC 142
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed BE/B.Tech in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized university/institute
- Candidates in the final year of engineering degree course are also eligible to apply provided they complete all their examinations and produce the final degree completion certificate before 01 January 2026
- The candidate should have scored minimum 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree
- For Architecture/Building Construction Technology stream, candidates should have B.Arch degree with minimum 60% aggregate marks
Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)
- Minimum Age: 20 years
- Maximum Age: 27 years (Born between 02 January 1999 and 01 January 2006, both dates inclusive)
Nationality
A candidate must either be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India
Marital Status
Candidates must be unmarried. Candidates who marry during the training period will not be allowed to continue and will be discharged.
Physical Standards
Candidates must be physically fit according to the prescribed physical standards of the Indian Army:

Selection Process for Army TGC 142
The selection process for Army TGC 142 consists of the following stages:
Stage 1: Shortlisting
Based on the applications received, candidates will be shortlisted for SSB interview based on their academic performance and engineering stream preference.
Stage 2: SSB Interview
Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview, which will be conducted in two stages:
